Pharmacies

Out-of-date and unnecessary medicines and pharmaceutical products for people and animals are hazardous waste. While hazardous waste may seem harmless and small in size, it may still cause a risk to the environment or human health.

Never dispose of medicines with mixed waste or pour it down a drain. The correct and safest way to dispose of medicines is to return them to a pharmacy. The waste reception stations do not accept medicines.

You can return all household medicines to any pharmacy in the region free of charge. You can check the opening hours for your local pharmacies at apteekki.fi/apteekkihaku.
